Rolling Hills, Miniature Log Cabins and Vintage Buttons....

This past Saturday I jumped in my car and took a drive out into the beautiful countryside of Pennsylvania.  I came across a lovely field, surrounded by mountains and the most charming miniature log cabin.  I want to move into the little house on the hill and live with the fairies! After a series of gorgeous views and winding roadways I found myself at the Kimberton Antique Show.  Nothing could have made my sunny afternoon more glorious than the basket loads of vintage buttons I found at Linda Sarubin's booth.  Linda runs an antique store called The Gatchellville Store, (my next country adventure) which houses an assortment of items from the mid 1800's and beyond!  I was very tempted to spend every dollar to my name.  However, I did leave with a good deal of hand carved buttons, made from steel, brass, metal and abalone, some dating back to the 1880's.  I also picked up a lovely all silver chain purse (pic above), which came with the photograph of that sassy woman blowing a kiss - I love her!   I am thrilled to adorn my new dresses and blouses with these delicate artisan made buttons.  Please check back soon, as I have been photographing my vintage inventory, as well as the new summer time dresses I am making.  Etsy will be up and running very soon.
